  • FAVE QUOTE. You must always push your limits, because if you never fail, you will never succeed!
  • WE MOMENT. Other practices felt conventional and “old school” financial planning didn’t fit with my lifestyle and values, so why would it fit with other Gen Y individuals. WE has a model that resonates with me on so many levels, the structure, the members, the team, it creates an atmosphere to succeed. We only have one life to live and we need to make it the best possible life. I want everyone to be able to achieve big things and if I can help facilitate that then I feel that is an achievement for me too.
  • PROUD AS PUNCH. Get yourself comfortable and I’ll tell you a story… In late 2011 I was cycling in France and was involved in a head on accident with a car, after multiple surgeries, 10 days in a coma and 6 weeks in hospital I returned to Australia. I was completely incapacitated, relying on my girlfriend (who is now my wife) and my family to do everything for me. More surgery, months of rehabilitation, numerous set-backs and complications arose. Fast forward 4 years and I was on the start line at the Cyclocross World Championships. The journey back to be stronger than I ever was before is what I am most proud of, it was gruelling and at times completely devastating but I did it, and I’m not stopping there…bigger and better yet to come.
  • 20 YEAR OLD SELF There was a property I umm’d and ahh’d over buying and every time I drive past it now I kick myself for not buying it. So I guess my top tip would be, start early, don’t be scared to sacrifice a little bit now because the big picture is so much grander.
  • EMBARRASSING MOMENT. Hanging out with my friends and big brother develops a thick skin… so nothing feels that embarrassing when you can laugh it off.
  • TRUE TALL POPPY. No particular moment but I knew I was different from a young age when it came to my sporting goals, I had the ability to be disciplined and go training while everyone else played video games. I never felt I was missing out, I felt I was achieving.
  • PERFECT WEEKEND. Spending the weekend in Boulder, Colorado with my wife, Fiona. Wake up early, coffee at Boxcar Roasters, 4 hours cycling in the hills, followed by an afternoon wakeboarding on the reservoir and dinner at Pizza Locale…and more of the same the next day!
  • $20 PERFECT DATE Grab the mountain bikes, fresh roasted coffee beans, the coffee kit and head for the hills. Stopping to pick up a baguette, French butter and home-made jam from the local bakery and deli. Ride to the top of the mountain and sit there watching the sunrise while enjoying the fresh brewed coffee and baguette.
